  • Roundup Ready corn variety planted in an old hop yard at conventional timing for the region
  • Corn planted in four rows between hop poles
  • Rows 1 and 4 line up along old rills (furrows)
  • Drip lines are between rows 1 and 2, and 3 and 4
  • Rows 2 and 3 are often wetter compared to rows 1 and 4
  • Broadcast application of nitrogen through drip system
  • Post-emergence application of glyphosate

 

Previous years

  • Two years ago, the field was converted from an active hop yard with rill irrigation to drip irrigation
  • Last year, the field was left fallow
