Step 3: Plant Scale

  • Chlorosis on plants in outer rows is restricted to lower leaves
  • Approximately 2-5% of plants in middle rows have purpling on lower leaves
  • Approximately 10% of plants throughout the field have both chlorosis and purpling on lower leaves
  • Roots of plants in middle rows appear slightly less developed than what would be expected at this point in the season. However, root size and structure appear within range for the size of the corn plants in those rows
  • Stems appear healthy
